of the successful German Atlantic corsairs. She sank 9 merchant ships.
Hunted by Allied cruisers, she was damaged during Battle of the River
Plate
and finally scuttled near Montevideo.

small but powerful US duck
called
USS Arapaho.
Fleet Ocean Tug was laid down in 1941 and worked like heavy horse
about 20 years. Then she was tranfered to Argentina where she served as
Comandante General
Zapiola.

with big guns - HMS Roberts
This monitor was laid down in 1940 and supported allied invasion in
Sicily,
landing in Salerno or invasion in Normandy.
After WWII she served as training ship and was scrapped in 1965. |

Submarine Chaser CH-13 . Probably torpedoed
and sunk in 1943 by USS PICKEREL (SS-177) of Lt.Cdr Augustus H.
Alston.

Late
war Japanese small duck called "HATSUZAKURA"
Completed in May 1945 as improvised destroyer for defending
of homeland, supporting of landings and for supplying.
In 27th
August 1945 she carried Japanese emissaries to meet
USS MISSOURI (BB-63) at Tokyo Bay.
After the war Hatsuzakura was transfered to USSR as reparation.

small US escort duck called "Samuel
B. Roberts" .
My hero from Battle off Samar, where faced to fleet of
admiral's Kurita huge ducks, included Yamato.
Killed by battleship Kongo during Battle off Samar in 1944.

on Friday 13th, 1943.
